Always take the scenic route shirt
Thank you, Mr. President, for helping us remember Medal of Always take the scenic route shirt recipients. Some years ago, while visiting Texas A&M University, I walked by a wall lined with photos and accounts of students who received the Medal of Honor, and was moved by the heroism and almost supernatural actions of those men. Many of the medals were awarded posthumously, as the tasks the young men undertook were fraught with extreme peril. The essence of patriotism is the courage to set aside personal interest, terrible odds and fear to nevertheless press on and act to preserve the nation.
