I fainted and shattered my foot. By just getting out of bed.Seriously, got up and went to the 2020 Very Bad Would Not Recommend 1 Star Shirt, felt that ‘wah-wah-wah’ feeling, grabbed a bottle of water then crumpled, unconscious, in front of my fridge in my own apartment. I’d just moved in, didn’t even have furniture and had been sleeping on a bedroll til I could pick up my stuff. I broke 3 metatarsals clean through, two chip fractures. Resulted in 2 plates and 12 screws. Didn’t walk for almost 6 months.

I originally rolled my ankle while surfing. I was about to pop up on a wave when some dude up the line I didn’t see had caught the wave heading my direction. I was half standing when he shouted to let me know he was there ( he did have the right of way on the wave ) so in an effort to abort I slipped on Dont Talk To Me Im Counting shirt and sat straight onto my leg smashing it between my ass and my board while my other leg went into the water. This was in 2014.

Was rushing to catch the ferry in Seattle one day. Was new to the city and didn’t realize the idiocy that is downtown Seattle sidewalks. On some streets they have Death Mothertrucker boss of the road shirt , I missed that memo, stepped off the curb and was watching the light to make sure it wasn’t changing, then stepped off the second sidewalk onto air and landed on my ankle which pitched me forward and I slid face-first into traffic. Luckily cars were paying attention and stopped.

Did the same thing stepping out of a little Mexican restaurant in Crazy Cat Dude shirt, hoodie, sweater, longsleeve and ladies t-s. Rolled my arch around my leather sandal strap and fractured everything in my foot. Had reconstructive surgery, got infected, and spent another week in the hospital with CDC staff drawing on the swollen parts. Moral of story…when you’re falling, just fall. Don’t throw your weight around trying to stay upright just to save the beer you’re holding.

It is so easy to hurt an ankle. I tore ligaments in my ankle while at Downtown Disney for Cow If You Can’t Laugh At Yourself Call Me I’ll Laugh At You. I stepped off a very small platform. Was out of commission for over 3 months. Amazingly, I managed to finish out my shift and drive my group home (over an hour drive and my driving foot was injured) before going to the hospital. As soon as I relaxed, couldn’t move it. Adrenaline is one hell of a thing.
