Ugh did I mention Bedpans??? Being a female a bedpan is extremely difficult to use Stay home snuggle Cats shirt. I felt like I was peeing on the bed or it would overflow, or that I would spray everywhere. They refused to do a catheter insertion and I had to awkwardly pee into the bedpan while lifting all my weight on one arm and trying not to move my leg as I was ordered not to do. It would take me a few minutes to go no matter how badly I had to go because of not being used to going in a position like that. Being a female we cant control where the flow goes or how it will come out. I refused to have the nurses help me or watch me (had my dignity), I just took over with my husbands help, and we both tried our best to clean and manage it. I refused to go number 2 in a bedpan and Yes I would wait until I got home, I was a bit constipated from the meds anyway. Additionally I was fortunate to have gotten off menstruation a couple days earlier. Having an IV in your arm makes you go like crazy! I think my husband was more annoyed with that than anything else ( I would wake up several times throughout the night). The frequency and volume was insane and I hated the IV for that.
