This sounds so much like my son. We basically put our lives on complete hold when he was young. I would be holding onto him for dear life in the store just trying to get things done without him melting down or darting off. Our social life just stopped completely. The good news is he is 5 now, able to communicate what is causing him problems, and he is turning into a pretty decent kid. Toddlers are HARD, and 3–4.5 is really really rough. Hang in there Mom, it will get better.
